Hi I’m Robin DeLucia - “Serial Career Changer”! I went from Customer Service Supervisor, Bank Training Officer, IT Program Manager, Director Technologies, Human Resources Director to now an Entrepreneur. And you know what? I have always had the greatest joy from empowering others to achieve their career goals. That’s why I named my business IMPower Coaching.
It all began when I was choosing what to study at university. I had pretty good grades, so the pressure was on for me to choose something prestigious. What I really loved was travel – I dreamt of working on a cruise ship as a cruise director, but Arizona where I lived had no oceans near me. So I picked Political Science… Yep, this didn’t go well. I have a strength called WOO, which means I love Winning Others Over and meeting new people, perfect for a cruise ship!
Nevertheless, I had other strengths like Arranger and Responsibility and I ended up starting my career in banking where I did actually thrive. I went from strength to strength landing several leadership and director roles which helped me hone my skills of hiring and firing.
While working at American Express, I met my Aussie husband and relocated to Australia. Together we have three children – a high school teacher, a peri-operative nurse and a videographer/TV film operator, and my husband is a business consultant.
Throughout my career, I have always volunteered my time to help friends and family with resumes, job applications and I especially love building their confidence for interviews, and the courage to go for it! Years ago I was given a job as a Career Coach where I gained my Gallup Strengths coach accreditation, which led me to completing over 700+ strengths debriefs with individuals, helping them discover their unique talents and ideal career paths.
Taking notice of how many people struggle with writing their own resumes, I’ve incorporated this much-needed service into my business. And I’ve found that my success rate has gone up even higher in helping 8 out of 10 people get call backs to land their dream job. Also through helping people strengthen their interview skills, many secured jobs they never thought possible. For me helping people find jobs is the ultimate career because now I am Living On Purpose.
